Tulsa Tough 2011 Photos – Day 2 Brady Arts District

Hey!

Here is blog post #2 with some new links for photos I took during day 2 of this year’s Tulsa Tough races. Here are a bunch of links (event page link coming soon):

If you missed my earlier post I’ve also uploaded a bunch of photos from Day 1 at the Blue Dome District races. As usual, if you’re looking for photos of a particular racer I may have something that I didn’t upload, let me know and I’ll look through all my shots. Below are some of my more favorite photos:

Tulsa Tough 2011 Photos – Day 1 Blue Dome District

Hey everybody,

I’ve started to upload photos from the Day 1 of Tulsa Tough. Click these links to go to the galleries:

I’m not uploading as many photos as I uploaded last year but if you’re looking for any shots in particular please send me a message (I may have something you want). I’m uploading and processing more shots, and soon I’ll create an official event page with a nice slideshow. Until then here are some of my more favorite photos from the first night of racing:

Homemade Panoramic Camera

This weekend I finished making the first panoramic camera and got a chance to shoot some film in it. Overall the results were less than desirable but I learned a lot from the process and I think I’m going to keep working on building more homemade cameras. The shot I was taking above appears in the left frame on the picture below.

Winterfest

Last night I finally took a trip over to the 2009 Arvest Winterfest. I had wanted to take photos of it but didn’t have the time while school was still going on. The whole setup is kind of … pieced together, but I like that our city is doing it. For only being the 2nd year of the event there were a lot of people out skating, which is really cool. If it were to get bigger it could be pretty awesome.

Drizzly Downtown Tulsa

Twice a month a forum I regularly post in has a photo contest with a theme idea. For each contest the winner nominates themes for the next round and participants vote on which theme everyone will shoot for. It’s been a great way to try new things and shooting styles since the themes are generally broad in nature: fire, science, automobiles, misplaced, and so on. I went downtown this week to shoot and get ideas for this week’s theme: long exposures. I wasn’t really sure what to do but I’ve been in awe lately of the low hanging clouds that have been blocking some of downtown Tulsa’s taller buildings. I wanted to get a panoramic shot of the Bank of Oklahoma tower with clouds sweeping past it’s logo. (more…)

DFest 2009 Day 2 Photos (now with lots of video)

I wanted to write another blog post with more DFest 2009 photos. I’ve finished uploading most of the video I took to youtube so those are available for looking at too. I’m still very impressed with the 5D Mark II’s ability to shoot video.

Dfest 2009 – Friday Night

Here is a short post with some photos from the last night of DFest. Lots of people outside and the weather was pretty cool (compared to last year). Full set of photos is here @ flickr.

Callupsie & P.D.A.

P.D.A. @ The Marquee 4-18-2009

Got to use the 50mm 1.8 lens in low-light at a concert for the first time last night. Went to a concert at The Marquee where Callupsie and P.D.A. played. I really liked the music and got a few good pictures. I had to bump ISO all the way up to 1600 so there was a lot of noise in the photos. They don’t look to bad in smaller versions, but at full size you can really see it. (more…)

Bank of Oklahoma Center

BoK Center

Its starting to warm up outside so I’ve been looking forward to the good weather. I went down to the Bank of Oklahoma center this weekend hoping to take some pictures. I walked around a lot at first down around 2nd & Denver but realized most of the street signs and power lines were going to get in my way of any good shots. (more…)
