DFest 2009 Day 2 Photos (now with lots of video)

I wanted to write another blog post with more DFest 2009 photos. I’ve finished uploading most of the video I took to youtube so those are available for looking at too. I’m still very impressed with the 5D Mark II’s ability to shoot video.

The Dignan show was all-around fun. It was one of the smaller crowds at DFest but the band seemed to get into it.

The Native Lights show was intense and loud. I wish I had been able to see their earlier show at the SoundPony but I was out of town. This show made up for it 10x.

After that show we got some sandwiches at the Dilly Deli (food was good but that name is so stupid). Outside we could hear the Fiawna Forte’ show, which sounded crazy. I’ve only seen photos of Fiawna online before, I had no idea she sounded that intense. The crowd was really into it too.

After that was the Mayola show. My photos of that show sucked. I was pretty far back, and the show was awesome. Online at the Tulsa World website prior to DFest one of the interview questions was what can fans expect out of the Mayola show, and their answer was “To sweat and to be sweated on.” This statement was completely accurate. So the photos sucked but I think I made up for it in video (not that its good but it really captured the emotion of the group).
